Seattle is the northernmost major city in the contiguous United States and the largest city in the state of Washington. The Science Fiction Hall of Fame celebrates the most respected figures in the realm of science fiction, such as writers, filmmakers, artists and publishers. The Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame is housed in an ultra-modern building designed by Frank O. Gehry, the celebrated architect.

The tour explores the old city of Seattle, the first-floor storefronts that were gradually built over as the city developed and the alleys and streets of the 19th century. The tour starts inside Doc Maynard's Public House, a restored 1890s saloon, and continues to Pioneer Square, which is the heart of the underground city. Buildings in the tour house feature period antiques and oddities, as well as historical diorama. The tour concludes at the Rogues Gallery, the Underground Tour gift shop.

The zoo has won more "Best National Exhibit" awards from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums than any other zoo in the country. Major exhibits at the zoo include the Trail of Vines, Northern Trail, Tropical Rainforest, Elephant Forest, and African Savannah. The zoo draws over 1 million visitors per year and is a major attraction in the Seattle area.

zoo.org - The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture has been a Seattle institution since 1899. Located on the University of Washington campus, the museum is an integral part of the state's educational system. The museum is the oldest in the state and is the only major natural history museum in the Pacific Northwest. The vast collections of the museum contain over 12 million artifacts, including totem poles and dinosaur fossils, as well as geologic specimens. In addition to the permanent collection the museum hosts temporary exhibits that are pertinent to the museum's endeavors.
