Care-for-a-Baby Games
- Changing a diaper is harder than it looks, especially if you've never done it. Give each participant a doll with an embedded chip to create a real-life situation.
Demonstrate how to change a diaper, then give each participant 10 minutes to try it. Once everyone demonstrates that they understand how to diaper a baby, start the baby doll simulator so that it may cry at random moments and repeat the exercise. The idea is to teach the kids how to perform a rudimentary task while under the stress of hearing a baby shriek or cry. - Create teams with two players; one will act as the "baby" and the other team member will become the baby's arms.
Put a bib on the "baby" because this game gets messy. The "baby" sits in a chair and the other team member stands behind him. Have the baby place his arms behind his back. The other team member placed his arms in front of the baby.
Place a bowl of pudding or ice cream in front of the baby and the other team member feeds him. The first team finished with a fully fed baby and clean bowl wins. - This relay race to bathe, diaper and dress the baby will have game players running to win the challenge. Create teams that include an even number of participants. Provide a life-sized baby doll, baby clothes, five diapers, powder, small tub with water, peanut butter and a towel for each team. Be sure the items you give to each team are the same or very close to being the same to keep the competition fair.
The object of the game is the team that goes through all the diapers and dresses the baby first wins the game.
Set up one table for each team on one side of the room. Place the dressed baby on the table along with five diapers. Put a scoop of peanut butter to simulate a bowel movement in some baby's diapers for a surprise. Be sure each team has at least one or two peanut butter diapers.
Line teams up on the opposite side of the room from their baby. Announce "go" and have the first person in line in each team race to undress the baby. If the baby had a messy diaper he will have to place the baby in the bathtub. They must return to the team and then the next person runs to bathe, dry, powder and diaper the baby.
The next team member runs to change the baby into the next diaper. If the next diaper has peanut butter, the next team member in line runs up and places baby in the tub. Rotate through the team members until you have a winner with no diapers and a clean baby.
