Virginia is where the South begins: colonial mansions, rolling hills and a rich history beginning with the settlement at Jamestown in 1607. It is home to famous statesmen, including the nation’s first and third presidents, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, and that great Civil War commander, General Robert E. Lee whose gracious home overlooks Arlington National Cemetery. RV travelers will find campgrounds close to all the state's major attractions, from the western border to Chesapeake Bay. - Cherrystone Family Camping Resort is a huge RV resort located on the shores of Chesapeake Bay, 11 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The resort has more than 500 spaces for recreational vehicles on 300 acres. RVers can choose which hook-ups they want, if any, and if they'd like a water view. The resort also has a cafe, convenience store, laundry, swimming pools, playground, dog walking areas, a boat ramp and a fish-cleaning station.
