Virginia is where the South begins: colonial mansions, rolling hills and a rich history beginning with the settlement at Jamestown in 1607. It is home to famous statesmen, including the nation’s first and third presidents, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, and that great Civil War commander, General Robert E. Lee whose gracious home overlooks Arlington National Cemetery. RV travelers will find campgrounds close to all the state's major attractions, from the western border to Chesapeake Bay.
