This article may seem dumb to you, because lets face it, your toddler IS active, no matter how you shake it.
You're thinking, "Um yeah...
I don't want my toddler to be more active.
I will never regain my sanity!" But there are ways to keep your toddler active in productive, brain stimulating ways.
These activities are fun to watch and fun to join.
These activities are also the ones that help them grow and may stay with them as either a happy memory, or a hobby for the rest of their lives.
The most simple place to get your toddler interested in physical activities is either your living room or your back yard.
Give the kid a ball and you will find yourself having a ball.
Just learning to catch and kick a ball is teaching your toddler essential motor skills that are giving them intellect at the same time.
You will definitely need to guide them and show them how to do it, but eventually they will get the hang of it and be doing it all on their own.
The above advice is for any toddler.
But if your little girl could care less about balls and sports, there are other ways to spark her interest in physical activity.
You could get her interested in dance or gymnastics.
A simple way to do this is to put on a pretty dress, turn up the music, and dance around the house like crazy people.
Not only is this fun but it is amazing exercise! Once they have the basics down, it's time to give them a challenge.
Get a pint sized hoop.
Get a goalie net.
Find a dance move and teach it to your little girl.
This gives them something to work towards and keeps their attention focused on something other than destroying your valuables.
Now, I don't think signing up for a team is really worth it until your toddler gets a little experience under their belt.
You want to be cheering them on and encouraging them, not yelling at them to stop digging in the dirt.
So now that they have the gist of the sport, somewhat.
It's time to sign up for the mini teams.
You can go to your local public schools to see if they have any sports info for youngsters like yours.
Another place to look is local community centers and gyms.
Try to find a sport your toddler actually likes.
Being on teams like these can help with social skills and learn how to work well with others.
Do you see how sports and physical activity can be productive? Instead of running around aimlessly, they are given a task and will most likely wish to perfect it.
Your toddler will love you for this opportunity for productive activity.
I hope this helps you and I wish you the best.
Peace.
