Repercussions of Illegal Downloads From the Internet

Downloading the costly material from the internet without payment of the charges is very easy.
If you have an internet connection and own a personal computer, you can access anything like games, new movies, costly games, software, and even audio and video songs.
There is no proper control on the illegal downloads from internet.
People are downloading costly material free of cost from the internet and violating the copyright laws.
Nothing has been done so far to control it.
The entertainment sector has to suffer the loss of hundreds of million dollars each year due to the availability of illegal material on the internet to anyone.
Government of France has introduced a new law against this illegal activity.
This new law is called The Creation and the Internet Bill; it has been taken into effect since January 2010.
The illegal downloads will be traced, warned and even punished under this law.
Initially if the internet user downloads a file from the internet in a non-legal way will receive a warning through email.
This will warn him and he will understand that his actions are being watched.
This is a great tool to stop the users doing prohibited actions like downloading files illegally.
Upon continuous downloading of restricted files from the internet the user will be sent a notice and he will have to pay some fine for his act, in some cases the internet access of the person could be terminated.
Entertainment agency welcomed this law and Nicolas Sarkozy the French President is also a supporter.
This bill has been fully implemented and a new agency called HADOPI monitors the internet for all prohibited acts.
