Sleeping Like a Baby

According to sleep experts, a healthy adult needs an average of six to eight hours of sleep.
A good night's sleep means waking up well rested and energized in the morning and it is the simplest thing to stay healthy.
Here are some suggestions to enable you to sleep better: -Start with your bedroom; make sure that your bed is comfortable and the room quiet and dark.
-Wake up and tuck into bed like clockwork every day.
-Eat dinner at least two to three hours before you plan to go to bed as it's harder for your body to rest while still processing food.
Limit your caffeine consumption and nicotine use too.
-Do not exercise vigorously just before bedtime.
However, try doing it early in the morning as it may promote deeper, better quality sleep.
-If you're having trouble sleeping, do not toss and turn around for more than 30 minutes.
Get up and calm yourself by reading or deep breathing exercises.
-Have a pre-sleep ritual such as taking a relaxing bath or drinking chamomile tea before going to bed.
-If you have medical conditions that contribute to your sleeping problems, such as sleep apnea, get the right treatments.
If you still can't sleep, try sleeping pills.
You don't have to be reluctant to try them as there are sleeping pills that are engineered to be less addictive and clear out of the body relatively faster.
If your insomnia persists, however, do consult your doctor.
Sleeping pills should only be used for situational insomnia that are stress related and not persisting ones.
