Make Play Time Healthy
What little boy doesn't like playing with cars and trucks, and really, anything with wheels? It seems to be an inborn trait that little boys are obsessed with things that roll.
Boys and girls too for that matter seem fascinated to shoot toys around and get them to move on their own.
The same holds true for make believe play toys like dishes and cups that kids can play house with or have a pretend bakery with or play restaurant with.
Toys have come a long way since they were made of tin or metal and painted with toxin filled paints.
And let's face it, who wants to be playing with their clunky, heavy toy and get their finger cut on an exposed piece of metal? Luckily, toys moved to being made with plastic that cut down on the accidental cuts and made the toys lighter, brighter and more fun, but then we realized just how many chemicals were found in that plastic.
Things like PVC and BPA have been linked to horrible diseases like cancer and developmental problems when released and then ingested into our systems, and these were additives in so many of the plastics that were then made into toys that we willingly gave to our children.
Times have changed, again, and now our little guys and girls are a lot safer with the advent of Green Toys, a company that makes plastic toys that are safe and better for our kids and the environment at the same time as they are constructed from recycled milk jugs.
Today's kids don't have to give up the classic toys like dump trucks, fire trucks, or flatbed trucks with cool racing cars to transport or the kitchen toys and dinnerware sets that they love to play pretend with.
Such toys allow kids to use their imaginations and not be glued to computers or video games for their entertainment and have been mainstays in toys since they were made out of metal years ago.
It's about time that manufacturers of kid's toys are catching up with the rest of the industries that are looking at healthier options both for us humans and the environment as well.
When you choose to go green you are giving your child the classic toys that allow his imagination to soar, encourage movement and interaction which are great health benefits that go along with these kinds of toys.
