    • 1). Lay 3/4 yards of outer fabric and 3/4 yards of liner fabric on a flat, heat resistant surface. Press the fabrics flat with a warm iron.

    • 2). Measure two 15-inch by 20-inch rectangles from each fabric type. Cut out the rectangles with a pair of scissors.

    • 3). Place the two outer fabric rectangles with right sides together and match up their edges. Cut a 1-inch square from the two bottom corners of the layered fabric. Pin along both sides and the bottom with straight pins to secure the pieces together. Repeat this step with the two liner fabric rectangles.

    • 4). Sew a 1/8-inch seam along the two side edges and the straight bottom edge of the outer fabric pieces with a sewing machine. Leave the square cutout portions open. Sew the liner fabric pieces together in this same manner.

    • 5). Pull the bottom right corner of the outer piece open at a diagonal so that the two seams match up in the center. Pinch the edges together and pin closed. Sew a 1/8-inch seam along the pinned edges. Repeat this step in the bottom left corner and in both bottom corners of the liner piece.

    • 6). Cut two strips from the remaining outer fabric, 5 inches wide and 44 inches long. Fold each strip in half lengthwise with the right sides together. Sew a 1/8-inch seam along the side and one end in each strip. Turn the strips right-side-out through the open end. Fold the open edges inward by 1/8 inch and sew across the edge.

    • 7). Turn the liner piece right-side-out and tuck it inside the outer piece. Match up all seams and edges. Fold one fabric strip into a "U" shape and slip it between the outer and liner fabrics on one side. Position each end of the strip 1/3 of the way from each end of the bag and pin in place. Repeat this process with the second strip on the opposite side.

    • 8). Sew a 1/8-inch seam around the top edges of the assembled bag. Leave a 2-inch gap open. Turn the bag right-side-out through the open gap. Tuck the lining into the outer fabric. Turn the open edges inward by 1/8 inch, and sew a seam along the opening to close it.
