The Bottom Line

What song of Tracy's don't I like? There isn't one. This album is chalk full of great hits, 15 of them and a couple of new ones to boot. Tracy's recognizable voice is such music to my ears whenever I hear him sing. I caught a performance of his a while ago and have followed his career since then. I'm so glad he came out with another collection and the hits on this album I'm told were re-recorded.

A must have for any supporter out there, a collection to beat all collections.

  • None.

Guide Review - Tracy Lawrence - 'Then & Now: The Hits Collection'

One of the most recognizable voices in Country Music, this artist is not only awesome in singing, he has devoted time developing his writing skills on songs like the 1994 No. 1 hit "If The World Had A Front Porch." He's written many others and also began co-producing not only his own music, but producing other artists as well. With so many hits that made the climb to the No. 1 position, he has to be proud of his continued success.

Hits like "Time Marches On" and others I'm told have all been re-recorded, which doesn't happen very often. What a added bonus.

"Stars Over Texas" is one of my favorites along with my ultimate favorite that makes me cry every time, "Paint Me A Birmingham." A song that steals your heart and has it captured throughout the song, just knowing the pain he must be going through, missing his one true love and wanting that all back again.

Playing honky tonks at the ripe age of 17 and working his way into our hearts with his debut album, Sticks And Stones. Tracy could say he made it. His sophomore album Alibis is even better, and produced four No. 1 hits. "Can't Break It To My Heart" stole even more hearts.

"Used to the Pain" is one of the new tracks that is currently climbing the charts right now. I personally am looking forward to more of Tracy's music, with new ones like this one and the other new song on the album, "If I Don't Make It Back," I know they will be hits soon for him. They are both classic Tracy Lawrence ballads.
