Baby Shower - Common Questions and Answers

Are you planning a baby shower for a close friend or relative? If so, you most likely have some common questions in regards to what is expected.
Here's a look at a few of the most frequently asked questions.
Who should be invited to a baby shower? Tradition tells us that female members of the family, including grandmothers, should always be invited.
After that, you can really invite anyone you wish.
The one point I would add here is that it would be in everyone's best interests if you went over the guest list with the new mother-to-be before sending out invitations.
Unless this is a surprise party it is considered respectful to get her thoughts.
A couple of other tips in the guest area would be that you will want to set up rather or not children of the attendee's are welcome.
Will there be someone to watch them during the party? If not, it can make for a lot of interruptions.
Finally, you may also want to make sure that guests do not invite any other friends with them unless you have made it to where all are welcome.
Where do you hold the baby shower? Generally speaking, the shower is always held at the home of the host, but it could also be held in a bigger, more convenient, location as well.
It all depends on the size of the home and how many guests are going to be there.
Who pays for the shower? This is more commonly asked than you might imagine.
In most cases, the one hosting the event is in charge of the expenses.
Of course, you can always ask others to pitch in and there is nothing at all wrong with that.
The key is to take care of that issue up front during the planning stage and not at the shower where everyone is blindsided.
Do you tell the mother about the baby shower or make it a surprise? Naturally, you have most likely seen this go either way, but I would always recommend going over this with the new mom and not making it a surprise.
Let her wishes and health decide whether or not she wants a shower and when.
These are just a few of the most commonly asked questions you may have when considering a shower.
The main point is to use good judgment and have fun celebrating the arrival of the new baby.
