    • 1). Cast on the desired number of stitches to either double pointed needles or circular needles.

    • 2). Place a stitch marker on the right needle right after the last stitch that you cast on. This is important so that you can keep track of when you finish each row.

    • 3). Slip the first stitch you cast on from the left hand needle to the right hand needle.

    • 4). Slip the second stitch on the right hand needle (the last stitch you cast on) over the first stitch and on to the left hand needle.

    • 5). Pull tightly on the yarn to secure your stitches.

    • 6). Knit according to the directions in your pattern.

    • 7). Cast off according to the directions in your pattern.
