    • 1). Adorn your kitchen with primitive country-inspired pieces. Hang tin stars on the walls, along with farm- and forest-inspired artwork. Use vintage colanders to hold fruit, coffee cups and bread. Opt for sturdy, solid worn metal cabinet pulls throughout the kitchen. Select a large, solid wood dining table with sturdy chairs. Display a wicker basket filled with fruit or vegetables in the center of the table.

    • 2). Choose sturdy furniture for your living room, such as wood framed furniture with large, firm cushions. Decorate the mantle with floral arrangements, stocky candles and potpourri. Opt for solid colored curtains, tied back with a floral band. Add a simple rug that covers most of the floor. Dark green or blue, gray or cream are appropriate colors for primitive country living room decor.

    • 3). Opt for a mauve or cream and medium blue color scheme for the bathroom. Tuck a basket of rolled towels under a chair in the corner for easy access. Display an antique wash basin and pitcher on the counter. Avoid too many solid wood pieces in the bathroom, choosing wicker accessories instead.

    • 4). Selecting replicated hand-hewn furniture in the bedroom gives the room an instant primitive country atmosphere. Large arrangements of dried grasses and flowers soften the heaviness of the wood furniture. Dark colors, like blue, green and brown should dominate the color palette, leaving room for paler colors in the accessories. Utilize rustic wooden picture frames for artwork and minimize the number of knick knacks in the room.
