If You Cook Your Dogs Home-Cooked Meals, They Will Love You Forever

The food you feed your dog doesn't have to be special in any way.
It doesn't require any special ingredients to make it dog food, it just needs to be well balanced, nutritious, and seasoned the way your dog likes it.
Most dog nutritionists recommend a diet containing 30% vegetables, 30% carbohydrates, and 40% proteins.
Most cheaper brands of dog food will either provide vegetables or carbohydrates, but rarely both together.
A quality homemade dog food may be made from beef or turkey.
Both are protein rich, and lean.
Turkey is preferred over beef as it contains healthier protein content.
Two examples of great home cooked meals may be turkey with carrots and rice, or beef and brown rice.
Both are tasty, aromatic, and will be a hit with your dog.
You don't have to worry about the expense of using fresh vegetables, however.
Frozen veggies work just as well.
The best way to serve them is diced, boiled, and seasoned with a pinch of garlic and salt.
This prepared vegetable base will be great to add the carbs and meat to.
Your dog probably won't care where the carbohydrates come from, so either rice or potatoes are good choices.
Some people may believe that it is difficult to make their own dog food.
This is simply not true.
If you can cook for yourself, you should have no problem cooking for your dog.
If you buy in bulk and prepare a good quantity of food, it can be refrigerated for up to a week at a time safely, and your dog will be able to enjoy your homemade food all week long.
If your dog is used to eating commercial dog food, it may take a week or more for them to get used to eating home cooked meals.
If you try to make the switch too quickly, your pet may not eat the new food, and may even come down with diarrhea.
If you keep with it, and don't force it, your dog will be eating quality food by the end of the week.
One benefit of homemade food is that it does not contain some of the allergens commercial foods can.
Protein based allergies are the number one allergy in dogs, and being that your homemade food has no additional proteins besides what is naturally in the fresh meat you use, your dog will live longer and be healthier.
A simple web search will reveal many different recipes for your dog.
From biscuits to snacks, treats to entire meals, you can find hundreds of recipes to choose from in no time.
You will be able to give your dog healthy snacks made with love in your kitchen instead of some mass produced, meat-flavored jerky stick found in the pet aisle.
