What exactly is it about stress as well as stress management that has their underwear up in a bunch about now-a-days? I mean will we really think that our modern society is more stressed out as compared to back in the days when people had been dying right and left, ingested by large wildlife, starving, being hit with arrows, etc.
? What I'm saying is you've got to be kidding me right? Yes and no.
The fact is that those people who are stressed out by today's standards have more existence limiting diseases like cancer and heart disease and these are also the identical people who aren't existing as long.
This is as compared to the average person who will not face any of the strains like those mentioned previously and the present day people that do.
Effectively there has been a lot of analysis done on the dynamics of stress and also the mechanisms that were designed by God in our bodies to deal with it.
Everyone's heard of the fight-or-flight reaction and this turns out to be a significant mechanism that affects our health negatively.
So what has changed? This device is certainly been useful to our ancestors while they dealt with stress, a life preserving rather than life limiting process.
Well it turns out that the kind of stress that individuals face today spins this system on almost as well as the various other immediate life dangers but our bodies never absorb it just like stress and so it goes completely unchecked and takes a toll on our bodies.
We therefore need a different form of stress management as compared to naturally getting away by running away from the significant beast that was wanting to eat us.
Being active is one obvious type of stress management which enables us to use up or soak up some of the sympathetic tone that is the "fight-or-flight" response to career and life stress.
It does things like confirm the increased heart rate and the high amounts of insulin and other hormones within our system, and it provides us natural mood improving substances (endorphins) that counter the stress reply as well.
Another aspect is the cognitive a reaction to stress that needs to be resolved.
Partly or psychological and mental wellness is addressed simply by exercise but it also should be addressed in terms of many of the behaviors that we decide to dull rather than correct our unhealthy anxiety response.
We need to find correct ways of considering rather than use elements like alcohol, nicotine, and illicit medications to mask our low moods.
We need to train our heads to think positively.
We have to find alternative activities as well as vents for our 5 senses like art and also social release.
We need to eat better and stay outside much more to get the natural anti-depressants which might be found there and are much healthier.
Only then will we be nearing stress management in a very healthy and existence extending way.
