Information About SMC
- SMC Networks was founded by Paul Richman, an engineering graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in 1971. SMC began as a manufacturer of calculator microchips headquartered in New York with a manufacturing plant in California.
- SMC is a manufacturer of a variety of computer networking products. Included in SMC's line of products are LAN switches, hubs, routers, modems and software for Ethernet hubs and Token Ring adapters.
- Although based in the U.S., SMC has a presence across the Americas, the Asia-Pacific, Europe, Africa and in Japan. Funding Universe reports SMC has regional offices in Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Singapore and the U.K.
