Passenger Pre-Flight Requirements for Tallahassee Airport
- If you plan to check baggage for your flight, you may opt to use either curbside check-in or a ticket counter inside. If you use the curbside option, simply check your bags in with a sky cap, then continue to the passenger security checkpoint. If you go to the ticket counter, you will need to first check-in with the agent there then carry your luggage to the baggage screening line and leave it with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent before heading to the passenger security checkpoint. You will bring your carry-on baggage to the passenger checkpoint with you, of course.
- Travelers aged 18 and older will need to show federal or state government-issued identification at the ticket counter and at the security checkpoint.
- At the passenger checkpoint you'll need to remove your coat and shoes and send them through the x-ray machine. Take keys, change and other metal objects out of your pockets and place them in a bin or in your carry-on. Purses, backpacks, briefcases, carry-ons and other bags must go through the screening machine. Large electronics like laptops and full-size gaming consoles must be taken out of the bag before being sent through the machine.
- The TSA allows gels and liquids on board provided that they are in containers of 3.4 ounces or less and packed in a clear, zip-top, quart-sized plastic bag. Only one quart-sized bag full of gels and liquids is permitted per passenger. Baby formula, breast milk and medication are permitted in larger quantities and should be shown to the TSA agent at the checkpoint. Any liquids that do not conform to these requirements should be packed in checked baggage. In addition, you cannot take liquids purchased past the checkpoint, such as a cup of coffee, onto the flight with you.
