Sesame Street Invitations - Making 1st Birthdays Special

Homemade Sesame Street invitations is the place to start when creating that very special 1st birthday party.
Your little one will thank you for taking a walk down one of their favorite streets - Sesame Street that is! SESAME STREET INVITATIONS - FEATURING BIG BIRD
  • Cut 8 1/2" x 11" shiny, orange cardstock into 4 pieces.
  • Type or hand-write your party details in calligraphy on a piece of light tangerine scrapbook paper, that has a faint complimentary pattern.
  • Cut each finished piece of scrapbook paper with decorative scissors so they measure 3" x 4 1/2" and glue to the 4 pieces of cardstock.
  • Decorate the corners with Big Bird stickers and embellish the edges with yellow glitter.
  • On the reverse side, decorate with Big Bird stickers and die cuts of letters and numbers.
SESAME STREET INVITATIONS - FEATURING COOKIE MONSTER
  • Make or buy extra-large chocolate chip cookies and wrap each one in blue cellophane.
  • Type or hand-write in calligraphy, party information on large adhesive labels.
  • Put a label on each cookie, and a large Cookie Monster sticker on the reverse side.
  • Hand-deliver your cookie invitations.
SESAME STREET INVITATIONS - FEATURING ELMO'S FACE
  • Cut a large oval from shiny red cardstock for his head; cut a small circle from shiny orange cardstock to create his nose; and cut an open-shaped mouth from either shiny black cardstock or black felt.
  • To create Elmo's face, glue orange nose and black mouth to red oval and finish up by gluing large goggly eyes above his nose.
  • Put the party details on the reverse side.
INVITATIONS - FEATURING YOUR BABY
  • Cut 8 1/2" x 11" shiny, yellow cardstock into 2 pieces and fold in half.
  • Using decorative scissors, trim the edges of a photo of your baby in their favorite Sesame Street character costume, so that the photo is slightly smaller than cardstock.
  • Glue the photo to the front of the invitation.
    Put "Come Celebrate My 1st Birthday!" above the photo.
  • On decorative paper (finished size 4 1/2" x 7 1/2") either type or hand-write in calligraphy the party details.
EMBELLISH READY-MADE INVITATIONS Buy ready-made Sesame Street invitations featuring Big Bird and embellish the picture.
Add wiggly eyes, yellow feathers on the body, and red felt for the mouth.
Add Fun Wording To Your Invitations: (Baby's Name) Birthday Is Brought To You By The Letter (first letter of baby's name) And The Number "1.
