    • 1). Determine the outside corner angle by opening the t-bevel and placing it around the outside corner.

    • 2). Lock the t-bevel by turning the pivot locking bolt located on the pivot of the t- bevel.

    • 3). Place the t-bevel on the work surface and mark the edge of the t-bevel blade with a pencil by positioning the t-bevel body against the edge of the work surface, with the blade lying flat on the work surface.

    • 4). Position the protractor on the work surface by centering the flat side of it on the pencil mark at the edge of the work surface.

    • 5). Read the degree mark at the arched top of the protractor.

    • 6). Divide the degree angle in half. The result is the angle in which the miter saw will be set on.

    • 7). Swing the saw to the left by placing your hand on the saw table handle, located on the front of the miter saw base.

    • 8). Adjust the miter saw angle to correspond with the predetermined angle by aligning the angle indicator with the corresponding angle on the angle scale, which is located by the saw table handle.

    • 9). Lock the saw table handle by turning it clockwise.

Place the scrap crown molding with the top of the crown on the saw table and the bottom of the crown resting against the fence. This position is upside down from the crown molding when it is installed.

    • 11

Slide the scrap crown molding to the right of the saw blade allowing the scrap end to extend slightly past the blade.

    • 12

Cut the scrap crown molding and set aside.

    • 13

Swing the miter saw to the right to the previously determined angle and lock the saw table handle. This setting is used to cut the opposite crown miter.

    • 14

Repeat the previous steps for the right hand cut. These steps are the same, just the opposite direction.

    • 15

Place the cut pieces together on the wall surface by aligning the miters, forming the outside corner. This is a test to see of the angle corresponds with the wall.

    • 16

Cut the actual crown pieces to the determined angle of the scrap pieces by starting with the saw swung to the left.

    • 17

Apply glue to each miter cut and install the pieces.
