- 1). Select a calendar layout. Use a traditional layout that features a picture at the top of the calendar crease and the layout of the days at the bottom. You can also use a layout that features the entire calendar in poster format. These calendars generally have one large picture or a collage of pictures at the top of the poster and the day/month layout located underneath.
- 2). Choose your pictures. Take your own pictures by visiting a dog park, animal shelter or even by going for a walk and keeping an eye out for canines. Arrange a photo shoot with your dogs and/or your friend's dogs. Take pictures of the dogs in a variety of situations. Print the pictures from your home printer, or take them to a local print shop to have the pictures printed at the appropriate size.
- 3). Select a style. Make the calendar completely your own by using durable paper and your drawing skills. Draw the calendar dates by hand and paste the pictures on yourself. Use a whole punch and plastic binding to hold the calendar together. You can create month titles and photo captions with stickers, or draw by hand. If you would rather, create the style using a computer program. Many computers come with programs that help you design letters, calendars, to-do lists and other forms of media. - 4). Print your calendar, either from an online design site or at an actual print shop in your area. It may be more cost effective for you to go to a print shop if you want to print multiple copies. An at-home printer will require a lot of ink and could cost hundreds of dollars depending on the amount of calendars you print.
