• This pair of pretty little cabins sits right on the coast in a garden filled with flowers and greenery. Relax by the goldfish pond or enjoy the view from the seaside gazebo. A path from the garden takes you right down to the beach. Both cabins include a well-equipped kitchen that includes a microwave, coffee maker and washer and dryer. Along with phone and Internet service, the cabins have televisions equipped with VCRs and DVD players. Le Faux

• Le Faux is an unusual property overlooking secluded Mitchell Creek Beach. Both inside and out, the cabin is built to resemble a Tudor cottage from 17th-century Europe. Oriental carpeting and antiques give the interior historic flavor, but you can enjoy your complimentary bottle of wine in front of an up-to-date entertainment system. The space is small, comfortable for no more than two, and no kitchen facilities are available. You'll find excellent dining and shopping just six miles north in the town of Mendocino.
