How to Roast Oats
- 1). Measure the desired amount of oats into the skillet.
- 2). Place the skillet on a burner over medium heat.
- 3). Stir the oats constantly for about three minutes, until they turn light brown and smell toasty. Your oats may require more or less time depending on how hot your stove top gets; rely on sight and smell rather than a timer.
- 4). Use the roasted oats as directed in your recipe, or allow them to cool and store in an airtight container for up to a year.
