Chris Taloa on Working with Director John Stockwell: Chris Taloa got his first break when director John Stockwell cast him in his surfer movie, "Blue Crush." Taloa reunites with the director for another adventure film set in the ocean with his role as a bad guy in "Into the Blue."
?It?s cool man, just having fun and working with a guy I like to work with. He likes to work with me so we just get together and just get to work.

It?s just fun working with the guy. I surf with the guy all the time. We play and have fun. Me and his kid are tight. He?s put me as part of his family so it?s really cool.

He?s my friend. He really is. He gave me a break. He?s given me two huge breaks in my life. I don?t know anything about this scene. I know that people say whatever they?re going to say in front of the camera, but I?m just going to be straight. I don?t know [anything] about this stuff. I?m just here in the moment having a good time, and I?m just going to keep doing what I?m doing. Just enjoying myself,? said Taloa.

Chris Taloa on His ?Into the Blue? Character: ?I do a little bit of diving, not too much. I?m more one of the bad guys sitting on top of the boats. Someone who doesn?t really know how to swim but knows how to work on the engines.?

Chris Taloa Gets Physical with Jessica Alba: Taloa describes his big fight scene with Alba in ?Into the Blue? as pretty brutal. ?I didn?t expect it to last so long. You see stuff on film and you?ve got 5 minutes of whatever you?re doing.

No big deal, you?ll get it done in a day. But no, it wasn?t like that. I went in and I did five different weeks working on it.

I got a gaff hook in my shoulder by mistake so I?ve got a big scar. I?ve got scars on my side from a tiger shark banging its tail against me, whacking its tail against me. It?s got sandpaper skin so it rubbed a bunch of skin off my side. My back ? I had to go to the doctor for my back. They kept picking me up and dropping me on the metal surface of the boat, which is iron. It?s pretty strong. My back isn?t as strong as the iron, so it took a few blows there (laughing). I cracked my head once. I broke my eardrum. There was an explosive on this glass and as I go to headbutt this glass, and for me to get my head through the glass they blow the glass. It?s tempered glass and you?re not going to put your head through that for real. I thought it was candy glass ? I didn?t know it was real glass, so I had glass shards kind of cutting my face. My eardrum was perforated so my eardrum was ripped and bleeding. I went through a lot of stuff. My hands got jammed up real bad...?

It seems like there would have been a point where Taloa said enough was enough, but he says that other than the injury to his back, he was able to work through the pain. ?My back - after a while I got a little sketchy. There?s this one point where I have to come out of a hole in the boat to come and chase Jessica. When I was coming up out of the hole, I banged my back on the edge of the hole. I hit my back and I kind of kept running and then I fell down for real. We actually used that part. It was a lot of pain involved but it doesn?t mean anything, really, when you look at what your work is going to be like after. It?s really important to have good work.?
