How to Make a Beaded Alligator Bracelet
- 1). Thread the needle with the nylon thread. Slip the thread through a red bead, which will be used as your first stopper bead. Tie a knot on the side of the bead to hold it in place.
- 2). Add two beads onto the thread by sliding them over the needle. The beads should now be resting over the stopper bead.
- 3). Insert the needle through a blue bead, which serves as bead 1 (the bead next to the stopper bead). Tighten it by pulling gently. Insert the needle through a green bead, bead 2, and pull it to tighten also.
- 4). Add a blue bead, which is the third bead onto the thread. Insert the needle into bead 2 and tug to tighten gently. You have now created your first row of three beads, which serves as the end of the crocodile's tail.
- 5). Insert the needle into another bead to begin the next row. Go through the third bead in the first row with your needle to begin the second row. Repeat Steps 1 through 4, until 30 rows of three beads have been created to complete the tail section.
- 6). Insert the needle through one blue bead at a time and create a row of four beads using the ladder stitch described in Steps 1 through 5. Alternatively, you can create the entire alligator in green beads and not worry with alternating bead colors from this point on, as this is the first row of the crocodile's body.
- 7). Insert the needle through another bead to begin a new row of five beads. Once you have constructed the row, continuing with the ladder stitch, create two new rows of six beads above the row of five.
- 8). Create the next row using 13 beads with the ladder stitch. Over that row, create five rows of seven beads, using the ladder stitch, to create the crocodile trunk between the front and back legs, as suggested by the pattern on Feathered Fibers (featheredfibers.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/alligator-beaded-bracelet-pattern.jpg). Insert a needle into a bead and create a row of 13 beads. This row represents the front legs.
- 9). Insert the needle into another bead to create a row of six beads and then two rows of four beads to end the body section's beading and begin beading the head.

Insert the needle into a bead and create a row of six beads using the ladder stitch. Create a row of seven, this time, adding a red bead into the second and sixth beads to represent the eyes. Continue using the ladder stitch in rows, creating six beads in the next row and removing two beads in each row until you reach the nostril of the crocodile, where you will continue sewing only two beads in each row until the crocodile fits your wrist. Sew a red stopper bead at the end of the crocodile. - 11
Sew the clasp set onto bracelet by inserting the needle into the rings on each side of the clasp set. Sew one section at the end of the tail and the other section at the end of the nostril. Tie the nylon thread off in a tight knot by slipping the thread through the stopper beads. Try the bracelet on for size.
