Metal Allergy Symptoms
- This is one of the chief symptoms of metal allergies. The skin becomes increasingly itchy with further contact to the allergy-causing metal.
- Along with the itchiness comes a deep reddening of the skin. It starts to swell. Ice should be put on it to keep the swelling to a minimum.
- If contact with the metal continues, blisters will begin to form on the skin. At this time, make sure you get away from the metal in question. Do not pop these blisters, as they are full of healing cells and enzymes.
- The skin that is sensitive to metal will become crusty and scaly with time. At this point you should consult with your doctor about treatment.
- With prolonged and frequent contact with allergic metals, the skin will begin to darken. Cracks will also form in it as it dries out.
