How to Make Rolled Sandwiches With Normal Bread
- 1). Cut the crust off the bread slice. Lay the bread on top of a sheet of wax paper. Set a second sheet on top of the bread.
- 2). Roll the bread with a rolling pin, applying gentle pressure. Roll until the bread slice is approximately 1/4-inch thick.
- 3). Remove the top sheet of wax paper. Spread the bread slice with mayonnaise or mustard, if desired.
- 4). Lay the sandwich filling on top of the bread. Use a spreadable filling such as egg or chicken salad, or use lettuce, cheese and thinly-sliced deli meat.
- 5). Roll the sandwich into a tube, beginning at one end. Sandwiches with salad filling retain their roll shape but those with meat and cheese fillings may require a toothpick to hold them together. Serve the roll whole or cut it into smaller slices.
