How to Create a Cable Modem Connection
- 1). Connect an Ethernet network cable to the network port on the back of your computer. The head of the cable will click when it is fully inserted.
- 2). Insert the other end of the Ethernet network cable to the "LAN" Ethernet port on the back of your cable modem.
- 3). Connect the coaxial cable to your cable wall outlet and then connect the other end to the back of your cable modem.
- 4). Plug your cable modem's DC adapter into it and then into a wall power outlet.
- 5). Turn on the cable modem, if it doesn't turn on automatically, and insert the modem's installation disc into your computer's disc drive. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation of the cable modem. Once you are through the on-screen prompts, your cable modem connection is ready for use.
