Most of us are looking for ways to lose our extra weight
fast and effectively. We know that the extra weight comes
from our own lifestyle and sometimes our own background.
We can blame it on our genes but the main reason has to be
the very food that we eat. So is there such a thing as a best
diet to lose weight?

Naturally we are looking for a super diet that can make us lose
weight as the topmost priority. The first that comes to mind
are the low-calorie foods. Foods that are naturally low in calorie
content are fruits and vegetables. If we consume lots of
fruits and vegetables, particularly raw vegetables, our
weight should drop very quickly. This is because the
calories we take are far less than the calories we use that
is the key to any weight loss. Fruits and vegetables also
contain all the vitamins and minerals that the body needs to
function and keep you energize all day long. Taking vegetables
need not be boring so be imaginative and add some light
dressing and nuts.

Next we look at low-Carb foods as part of the diet plan to
lose weight. Low-Carb food is emphasized under the Atkins
Diet. The reason is that high-Carb food especially refined
foods such as white bread and white rice can easily convert to
blood sugar and cause a host of health problems.

Protein is also essential in our diet for the nutrients we need as well
as to lose weight. With protein intake, there is a less tendency
to feel hungry. However it is best to choose fish over red meat.
Codfish and trout are low in calories whilst lean meat is preferred.
Choose natural whole foods such as nuts and seeds over the
processed refined food as they are high in sodium and preservatives.
For example nuts consume along with water will make us feel
full thereby suppressing the appetite to eat more. We should not be
worried about the fats from milk and fish unlike the unsaturated fats
in red meat which are unhealthy. Our body needs the right fats but
not the no-fat or low-fat products that we are forced to believe.
Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily without fail as water contributes
to weight loss.

The best diet plan must be accompanied by a commitment to
stick to it and not allowed any outside temptations. There is a
saying that what you eat is what you are so it is extremely important
to know exactly what you are consuming. Check the calorie contents
of the foods in your diet plan and monitor the intake amount by
keeping a journal if necessary. Your body will soon grow accustomed
to the change in lifestyle necessary for a successful weight loss.
