    • 1). Blot up as much oil as possible with paper towels.

    • 2). Sprinkle a heavy coating of baking soda over any leftover oil residue. Let the baking soda sit in place for about 10 minutes. The soda will naturally absorb the odor, pulling out of the brick quickly without causing harm.

    • 3). Drizzle a coating of dish soap over a wet nylon scrub brush and scrub the baking soda into the brick. Continue until you break up all oil residue.

    • 4). Wipe the area with a wet cleaning rag to collect all of the cleaning solution. Let the brick air dry, and repeat as needed if any oil residue remains.
