How to Grow Wheat Grass Hydroponically
- 1). Place wheatgrass seeds in the bottom of one of your trays. Spray them with water; they should be about halfway submerged. Do not cover them totally in water, because they will drown. Leave them for about a day.
- 2). Place a layer of soil in the other tray and cover the soil with paper towels so that they fit snugly within the tray. Spread the wheatgrass seeds over the paper towels; make sure the seeds remain moist.
- 3). Cover the tray with the polyethylene sheet to help trap moisture inside the tray. Spray the seeds once a day for three to five days with water from your spray bottle.
- 4). After three to five days, take off the polyethylene sheet and gently take the paper towel layer out, without disturbing the seeds. Add about 1/2 cup water to the soil and replace the paper towel and seeds and the polyethylene sheet. Add more water as the grass grows taller.
