How to Create Shading With Acrylic Paint
- 1). Paint the object you would like to shade. Use the color that this object normally would be. Decide which way the light will be hitting that object.
- 2). Place a large dab of the color you are using on your pallete along with a small dab of black paint.
- 3). Mix a very small amount of the black paint into the color. Use just a small amount, as shading requires subtle changes.
- 4). Paint a thin line along the object you are shading. Follow the same lines and curves as the original object.
- 5). Darken the paint a little more with a small amount of black paint. Continue this process until you have created a sufficient shadow.
