    • 1). Fold the right side over about two inches. Fold the bottom over about two inches. The size of the folds depend on the size of the baby, with larger folds more appropriate for smaller babies.

    • 2). Fold the right-bottom corner over the midsection of the baby, connecting it to the top-left corner. Position the folded nappy underneath the baby's bottom with the top at the lower back area. The corner of the nappy that can be opened should be nearest to the toes of the baby.

    • 3). Fold the top layer up until the cloth is snug against the baby's midsection. Fold the left corner toward the middle and hold it against the previous fold. Fold the right corner toward the middle and hold it against the previous fold.

    • 4). Hold all three sections in place and then fold the bottom corner over to meet the other corners. Make sure all folds are snug against the baby's legs.

    • 5). Secure the corners with a nappy fastener. Alternatively, if your nappy comes with strings, cross them over the corners that you have secured with your hand and then fold the corners over the string. Bring the string around your baby's back and then tie a knot around the folded corners at the front.
