Wrinkle-free Traveler No.
Even if you are over 40.
This is not about skin care.
Although wrinkles and lines are a favorite subject of mine and how to avoid them, I'm talking here about packing.
Years ago I learned from Rosemary Clooney how to roll my casual clothes and to layer with tissue paper or plastic cleaning bags my finer clothes.
When she was on the road, she had to learn to pack without the need of an iron.
So if you want to pack without having to look like a bag-lady at your destination of choice.
Here are the basics to consider, please read on.
o Roll T-shirts, shorts, micro-fiber clothes.
o Consider the size of your suitcase/ full not stuffed.
o Lay out clothes and then pick size of suitcase.
Consider carry weight as well.
o Place shirts on the bottom, then dresses, then pants.
o Stack tops, unfolded by placing wrinkle-prone tops toward the bottom of a pile and less easily wrinkled ones toward the top.
o Fold the shirts in half from the bottom.
You now have a rectangular bundle of shirts, place it in your suitcase.
o Drape long dressed in the suitcase so that the ends hang over the sides.
o Place pants, and skirts on a flat surface, fold each in half lengthwise.
Stack pants and shirts on top of one another.
Fold the stack over, so that its length is halved.
o Place your stack of items on top of the dresses, then fold the ends of the dresses over the pants and skirts.
If you are flying don't forget to pack essential items, including medications and jewelry, electronics in your carry-on.
