Tough economic times require that you carefully manage your money right? If you agree I want you read this entire article as I share how one telephone call slashed my phone bill saving me a whopping 20%.
I sincerely believe you can cut your bill by the same amount as easily.
Yesterday I received my phone bill through and given how tough times are I decided to really study it.
Immediately I noticed that my package which includes broadband and a free weekend call plan was actually costing me more a month than this time last year even though I use my mobile phone to make most of my calls at this time.
This is simply because my telephone provider has put up cost by what can only be described as stealth.
Even though living in the UK we only have a few phone companies to choose from.
I decided enough was enough and I was going to challenge my phone company.
After negotiating my way through what seemed to be a complex voice menu I managed to speak to a real person (I am sure you can relate to this).
At this point bill in hand I asked them to go through every single cost with me.
Being careful to take notes and ask for clarification where I was not clear about a price.
Then I asked what seemed to be a question that turned the call to my advantage.
I simply asked if I found an alternative supplier how I should let them know.
The operator immediately offered to do an online review of my account to see what money could be saved.
Within minutes I was offered a reduction of just under $20 per month off my Broadband package.
I quickly checked online and decided that I could not beat this deal easily and informed the operator that if something could be done about the costs of my call plan charges as well then I would stick with them.
Needless to say I got another discount and even better was given a more superior call package.
All this took me less than 20 minutes to do and cut my bill by approximately 20% per annum.
Tomorrow I fully intend to call my energy company.
In the meantime I suggest you dig out your phone bill and give your supplier a call.
