- Make a custom backdrop using patterned fabric. Use a medium-sized wall that is off to the side or just outside the main reception area. Use fabric that looks like water or has a water scene on it. Add props such as goggles and scuba gear to the area. Encourage your guests to do funny poses with the props.
- Hang white paper lanterns in a corner of the reception room. Drape the wall behind them with pink fabric. Scatter the floor with red rose petals for a romantic touch. Another option is to use the white lanterns but drape the wall with fabric that matches your wedding colors.
- Set up an outdoor spot for taking photos, next to a large tree if possible. Wrap white lights throughout and around the tree. Use enough lights so they hang down from the branches. Place a bench next to the tree for people to sit on while having their pictures taken.
- Put up an actual photo booth at the wedding reception. To keep the photographs from looking like your typical photo booth pictures, hang up vintage floral or damask patterned fabric on the back and sides of the booth. Add dramatic props such as masquerade masks.
