    Wedding Locations

    • There are more than 35 wedding chapels in Las Vegas. Popular ones include the Little Chapel of the West, Viva Las Vegas Main Chapel, Little White Chapel, Chapel of the Flowers, Graceland Wedding Chapel, Cupids Wedding Chapel, A Hollywood Wedding Chapel and A Special Memory Wedding Chapel. A number of them have options for garden weddings, themed weddings and traditional weddings. Apart from standalone wedding chapels, most big Las Vegas hotels have chapels, gardens, gazebos and dedicated function rooms for weddings. There are many fancy weddings offered at varying Las Vegas landmarks. Among them: ceremonies aboard the Treasure Island pirate ship, Roman-inspired weddings complete with characters like Cleopatra and Caesar at Caesar's Palace, cruise weddings at Lake Mead, French-style weddings at the Eiffel Tower replica in Paris Las Vegas and Chapel in the Clouds weddings at Stratosphere.

    Legal Requirements

    • Getting a marriage license in Las Vegas is easy. Just go to the Marriage License Bureau at East Clark Avenue (open from 8 a.m. to midnight every day including holidays), bring a valid driver's license, certificate of citizenship, resident card, military identification card or passport for identification and pay the fee. There are no blood test requirements and no need to present divorce papers. At off-peak times, getting a license takes around 15 to 30 minutes. The couple must present the marriage license at the time of the wedding to the person who will perform the ceremony. Individuals under 18 years of age need parental consent. If divorced, provide the city, state and date of divorce to the Marriage License Bureau.

    Marriage License Duration

    • A marriage license expires 60 days after the time of purchase, except for active U.S. military personnel. For them, a marriage license expires 180 days after the time of purchase. The prospective spouse who is an active military personnel must show an active U.S. military identification card when applying for a license.

    Civil Wedding

    • The simplest and cheapest way to get married in Las Vegas is through a brief civil wedding ceremony. The Marriage License Bureau office is open for marriage ceremonies from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, including holidays. Couples need to wait 24 hours after obtaining the marriage license before the wedding ceremony, unless a judicial waiver is obtained.

    Las Vegas as a Destination

    • Transportation in Las Vegas is available from car rental companies, more than 965 taxis and more than 325 limousines. Hotels also provide shuttle services for their guests. There is also the Las Vegas Monorail servicing the whole stretch of the Las Vegas Strip.
      Las Vegas' weather makes it a year-round tourist and wedding destination. According to the Las Vegas Online Entertainment Guide, the city's average temperature is 66.3 degrees Fahrenheit. The average daily humidity is 29 percent. There are approximately 211.5 clear days annually, 82.4 partly cloudy days and 71.3 cloudy days. It rarely rains in Las Vegas, with an average yearly rainfall of 4.13 inches. The mountains surrounding Las Vegas help guard it from typhoons and tornadoes.
