In theory, controlling your weight is simple mathematics. If you eat more calories than you burn through exercise and daily living, you will put on weight. If you eat fewer calories than your body needs each day, you will lose weight. Unfortunately, theory and real life are two entirely different things. Many people today despite their best efforts on losing weight after not seeing fast results, they quit on their stool and continue living unhappy. It's very important to identify and understand the reasons which prevent weight loss. So, here we go...
)You're not getting enough sleep:It has been proven many times that lack of sleep cause weight gain. The reason for this is because when we're tired our natural instinct is to eat more to stay awake. Plus lack of sleep interferes with metabolism and appetite-regulating hormones, which means your body may store more fat.
)You're eating late at night. If your life is between a many hours job and a family, it's hard to eat at normal times. But eating late at night means that whatever you eat isn't given a chance to be burnt off, so it turns into fat.
)You don't drink enough water:You're actually thirsty not hungry. Many of us mistake hunger for being thirsty, so whenever you think you want more food have a drink first, then see how you feel.Plus when we don't drink enough our body stores water, a process that's called water retention.
)You're depressed:There is no doubt that many of us eat for emotional reasons but if you're depressed you're even more likely to comfort eat, which can create a spiral of bingeing and eating as you feel more depressed because you're putting on weight instead of losing it.
)You're bingeing:You've had a decent week and lost some pounds, so what do you do? You start ordering takeaways! You might think at the time that a little treat won't matter, but you can have your whole days' calorie allowance in just one takeaway meal and several days' fat allowance too. Of course you can have a treat or you can eat your favourite foods only adapted to be healthier. But acting this way will just set you back and it could kick off some unhealthy cravings too, which could wreck your progress.
