Granite Arch, the biggest indoor rock climbing center in California, is a great place for couples to enjoy a day of exercise and adventure, no matter what amount of experience they have with this sport. A daily pass to Granite Arch is $12, or $21.50 if climbing equipment is rented from the center. There are orientation classes available for those who have never rock climbed before, a safety class, and several different rock faces (up to 45 feet high) that cater to a variety of skill levels. Couples will enjoy the trust-building and team-oriented skills involved in learning to belay each other up and down the rock faces. This activity also provides a fun way to get in shape as a pair.

Bowling is a classic date activity that many cities offer, and the Country Club Lanes in Sacramento has a variety of activities available that can add an extra element of fun to any date. Not only does Country Club Lanes boast 48 bowling lanes, it also has over a dozen Plasma TVs so you and your date can watch the big game while bowling. Country Club Lanes has two fully stocked video arcades and a laser tag course. Each of Country Club Lanes' bowling lanes can be equipped with "automatic bumper bowling" if requested to keep balls out of the gutter for beginning bowlers. Country Club also has special event nights that are great for dates including late night bowling, Top 40's hits bowling, glow in the dark bowling and beach party bowling.
