- 1). Click "Start" and type "regedit" into the "Search" box and press "Enter." Or, if you are using Windows XP, click "Start" and "Run" and type "regedit" into the "Open" box and press "Enter." The Windows Registry Editor opens.
- 2). Click "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\CurrentVersion\ WinlogonNotify" in the left pane of the Registry Editor. Right-click "WgaLogon" in the right pane of the Registry Editor and select "Delete" from the context menu that appears.
- 3). Close the Registry Editor.
- 4). Click "Start" and type "WgaTray.exe" into the "Search Files and Folders" box. Right-click on the matching file that appears in the "Results List" and select "Delete."
- 5). Restart your computer.
