Vitamins Essential For Your Memory

Your brain needs food and your memory is part of your brain so you need to be thinking about what kind of food is going to be good for it - and what kind of food is going to make it much harder to remember things successfully.
Yes! It really does matter what we eat when it comes to remembering well.
When we are using our brain and stimulating the memory processes we are doing a lot of things - all of which will require energy and our energy comes from the food we eat.
For example when we are remembering we are thinking, feeling, looking and searching for other things we know about the subject, creating new links and imagining and storing the information as knowledge.
That is a lot of mental activity.
So what will not be good for you if you try to use your brain at the same time? Too much stress - obvious but true and worth paying attention to! Eating big quantities - heavy eating is a no-no.
Your body needs to concentrate on digesting the food and hasn't much energy left for thinking and processing.
Sugar - you would think it gives you energy and it does but only in short sharp bursts which isn't what the brain needs.
White flour - refined food is so processed that the body cannot get the nutrients out of it.
Too much caffeine - great for a little pick me up in the morning but if you take it too much your brain goes into a 'wired' state and you feel uptight and jittery.
Too anxious to remember stuff even though the state of anxiety is only caused by the caffeine as opposed to real things to worry about.
Too much alcohol - no surprises there when you think of trying to remember things when you are intoxicated.
It just isn't possible.
So avoiding these things will certainly help your brain process information better.
Then if you really want to give it a super boost try adding the following supplements into your diet and experience your brain taking off in terms of processing power.
B complex vitamins - marvellous for combating the damage caused by stress Vitamin C - great for strengthening the body's systems Vitamin E - good for healing and repairing tissue Lecithin (30-35% concentration) Ginko Biloba Selenium Glutamine Choline A visit to your local health food store will give you all of these supplements and you can often find capsules that combine several of these in one booster package so that you don't have to spend all day just taking supplements! The people who work in the health food stores are often very knowledgeable about their products and it is worth talking to them about what you want to achieve by taking addition elements in your diet.
