When a Single Parent is Out and Searching

It is an intricate affair if a single mom or dad is out on the searching platform again, because it is very different from the way they did it as single men and women.
This is because they have a third party, children, who opt to indirectly or directly affect the dating relationship.
You will easily notice that before you can accept the other person, there will be so many factors that will come into play, and your children will be one, even where to go shopping for the date.
Once you have started dating and the date has had a chance to meet your children or child, it pays to listen to what they have in mind.
You must be able to distinguish between your children's jealousy, since they might not want to share you with anybody, and true concern.
For example, your daughter might put it to you that she does not want you to begin dating, and you will be limiting yourself from a dating relationship if you take it without a sound explanation.
Remember that your children might have a true concern for asking you to stop dating that man or woman.
They might tell you that they don't like the man you are dating because he is constantly yelling at them, gives no attention at all, or just makes them really uncomfortable.
Incase this happens; you have no otherwise but to listen.
Try to discuss these leveled concerns with the companion in your dating relationship, as you watch the way she/he is interacting with the protesting children, as you put a lot of meditation on the issue.
There is another thing to your dating again as a single parent.
It's always tempting to call your ex boyfriend or girlfriend just to let her know that you have decided to move on, but don't forget it is very selfish to use the person you are dating relationship like a weapon.
The children might already have made it to him/her clear that you have started dating again, and it's ok.
Refrain from telling them to keep the date from the ex, as it will seem like you are engaging in something wrong.
Let the affairs in the relationship take their simple natural course, as you answer the children's query honestly.
Never look guilty or like someone who is cheating on their dad or mom.
The best thing is to reassure the children that your dating relationship is not a substitute for their love, and the kind of affection you have for them is different from the love you have for him/her.
Try to make it clear how important it is to have that special individual, but it really does not end the true feelings you have for them.
These tips might not guarantee the single parent an easy and smooth sailing, what they do is making the transitional process clear and less confusing, not only for you but each and everyone concerned, all the parties in the relationship.
