Why Herbal for Reversing Age

In The Beginning…

Before there were petrochemicals and prescription drugs, there were herbal skin care remedies.  Today, many people have returned to herbal treatment for the skin because it is safer and likely to be better than drugs or popular lotions.  You just have to use a little bit of caution.

Not All Herbals Are Created Equally

Just because a product is advertised or sold under the heading of herbal skin care does not necessarily mean all the ingredients are safe.  Concentrated plant fragrances will cause allergic reactions just like their chemical counterparts.  The best advice is to shop for an herbal treatment for the skin that is free of added fragrance.  Natural ingredients have a light neutral scent that is safe and non-irritating.

Scan the list of ingredients for essential oils, lavender, rosewater, and linalool.  Those are the most common natural fragrances.  They are also common allergens.  So if you see them listed, buy something else.

One Very Safe Herbal Is Wakame Kelp

There are many things a safe herbal treatment for the skin can do.  For example, Wakame kelp, a kind of sea algae, provides numerous health benefits that are relative to the skin.  It is an effective moisturizer, has antioxidant activity, and is proven to improve your skin's elasticity.

The antioxidants in Wakame are important to delay and counter the effects of aging.  UV rays from the sun, environmental pollutants, and even the air you breathe are doing damage to your cells on a daily basis.  When you were young, your natural cell rejuvenation process replaced cells that were damaged very quickly.  The process slows down with age and you begin to see wrinkles and a loss of firmness.

Kelp is also a known super food.  Its vitamin and mineral content is higher than most any other vegetable.  It was first used as a beauty treatment in Japan.  In traditional Asian medicine, it was used as herbal skin care for excessive dryness, injuries, and a variety of other conditions.

Wakame kelp was the favored Japanese herbal treatment for the skin because it grew in sacred undersea forests in the Sea of Japan.  In other areas of the world, traditional healers had different herbal skin care remedies dependent on what was available near their homes.

Ancient Remedies Still Work The Best

One company has taken many of the most effective ancient remedies and combined them into a line of skincare products that simply cannot be beaten.  These products support the skin's natural cell rejuvenation processes, increases firmness, reduces wrinkles, and are beneficial for relieving conditions ranging from acne to psoriasis.

The products can be used regardless of whether your face is dry, oily, or a combination of the two.  You see, the only reason cosmetic companies promote the idea of skin types is so they can continue to use cheap petrochemicals.  Petroleum based oils cause greasiness.  Petroleum based alcohols cause excessive dryness.

An herbal treatment for the skin, if properly formulated, will moisturize without causing greasiness and help to balance your skin's natural oil production.  There is so much more to consider beyond the scope of this article, but looking for herbal skin care products that are free of petrochemicals, artificial preservatives, and added fragrances is a good start.
