Honeysuckle is a fast-growing vine or shrub that can grow 15 to 20 feet high with a base between 2 to 10 feet wide. Honeysuckle is known for its colorful and fragrant blooms that flower in the spring and the fall. Honeysuckle wood can be used for gardening and craft projects, and even for herbal remedies. - Ground-up honeysuckle is used in Europe as an herbal remedy for asthma, urinary disorders and even labor pains. The variety of honeysuckle most commonly used for herbal remedies is Jin Yin, also known as Chinese honeysuckle.
- Plant honeysuckle for a fast-growing shrub that can be used for ground cover to stop soil erosion. The shrub can grow 15 feet high, and it makes a good screening material. Grow honeysuckle vines on arbors, fences and walls as a decorative flowering vine that attract hummingbirds with its sweet fragrance.
- Wrap honeysuckle into a circle, twisting it around itself when it is first cut, to produce a vine wreath used as a base for many crafting projects. Artists are now making honeysuckle yard ornaments out of the twisted vines. Decorative balls are made using the smaller vines.
