The reason for this is because your abdominals are surrounded by a mass of fat and the only way to cut down this fat and reveal your 6 pack is to do cardio workouts.
There are many cardio workouts the most popular being running or jogging.
These are good cardio, but people seem to forget about swimming which is a great cardio exercise since it works the whole body, and many people don't think of swimming as cardio.
Whatever cardio you choose one cardio workout that you must do is interval training.
Interval training is working out light for a period of time and then switching to a high intensity workout for a shorter period of time.
For example, if you are running you may run a light jog for 5 minutes and then sprint for 1 to 2 minutes and then go back to light jogging.
The reason interval training cuts down a lot more fat faster is because you are burning a load of calories during your high intense run and then during the low intensity run you are letting your body burn off more at a lower rate.
Shape your muscles When you manage to drop the fat around your body you may notice that your abdominals may not look as sexy as you wanted.
Of course, they won't, behind the fat everyone has a nice set of abdominals, but they aren't ready made.
