How to Draw a Heart in Photoshop
- 1). Open a new file in Photoshop. Select "Open" in the File menu, then click "OK."

Select the "Hard Round 19 Pixels" option, as indicated in the example.
Set your brush tool. Select the "Brush" button on your left toolbar. A brush size option will appear under the "File" menu. Click the brush icon to change the brush type. Select "Hard Round 19 Pixels." - 3
Use the color slider to change the brush color to black.
Set the color to black. Locate the "Color" menu on the right sidebar and drag the "R," "G," and "B" sliders to "0." - 4
Draw the first side of your heart, as seen in the example.
Draw the first side of the heart. Starting from the bottom of the picture, slowly drag the brush cursor to the top, making a curved heart shape as you move it. - 5
Your heart should look like this example.
Draw the other side of the heart. Starting from the bottom, where you began, slowly drag the brush cursor to the top point of the heart. Connect the brush stroke to the first half of the heart. - 1
Select a new layer to color your heart.
Select a new layer. Locate Photoshop's "Layer" menu, then select "New." Select "Layer" on the next menu. A pop up screen will prompt you to create a new layer. Select the "Menu" option, then scroll down and select "Multiply." Press "OK" to create the new layer. - 2). Change the brush size and color. Using the brush size indicator, slide the size indicator to 70px. Next, locate the Color tab and slide the "R" slider to "200."

If filled in correctly, your heart should look like this.
Fill in your heart. Starting from the bottom, inside the outline, drag the brush around the perimeter of the outline. Stay inside of the line. Next, fill in any areas that you missed, tapping the left mouse button to fill in small areas. - 4). Add shine to your heart. Move the color sliders to "0" to make the color white. Next, shrink your brush size to "19" in the brush size indicator. Finally, draw a small half circle in the upper right-hand corner of your heart to make it look shiny.

Add shine and depth to make your heart stand out.
Add depth. Move the "R" slider to "125," the "G" slider to "31," and the "B" slider to "13." Keep the brush the same size. Following the left border of your heart, make a thin line from the bottom to the top, tapering off where the top of the heart curves. This will make your heart stand out. - 1
Merge your layers to safely save your file.
Merge your layers. Select the "Layers" menu. Scroll down to "Merge Down," and select it. This will merge your layers into one file. - 2
Select "JPEG" and save your heart in Photoshop.
Select the format in Photoshop's "Save" option. Select the "File" menu and choose "Save As." Select the "Format" tab, scroll down to "JPEG," and select it. - 3). Save it. Name it in the "File Name" box and click "Save." Your heart is saved in Photoshop, ready for distribution on the Internet.
