How to Remove Rust From a Steel Door
- 1). Dust off the rusted areas with a soft bristled brush. Spray each area of rust with WD-40. Give it about five to 10 minutes to start dissolving the rust.
- 2). Wipe one rusted area with a cloth. If the rust comes off easily this way, continue spraying and rubbing the same area until all the rust is removed. If rust remains, rub the area lightly with sandpaper to remove the rust.
- 3). Saturated a cloth with WD-40 and wipe it across the door to remove the rusty dust after using sandpaper. Repeat this procedure for all rusted areas of the door.
