September Is Magical Dining Month in Orlando
Every September brings the opportunity to sample a variety of top Orlando restaurants at an unbeatable price. It's all part of Visit Orlando's Magical Dining Month, an annual event that celebrates the local culinary scene, gives residents and tourists great opportunities to eat great food, boosts revenue for local businesses, and benefits local charities.
How It Works
More than 70 area restaurants in the Orlando area offer special prix fixe menus for $33 per person throughout the entire month of September.
In 2015, there's even a bonus “preview week,” so the event really kicks off on Monday, August 24, meaning there are five and a half weeks to take advantage of the offerings.
The price includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. In most cases, the special menu provides a considerable discount over each restaurant's normal pricing.
Keep in mind that many participating restaurants continue to offer their regular menus during Magical Dining Month, and that the fixed price and charitable component (more on that below) don't apply to those. Always specify to your server that you want the Magical Dining Month menu.
Which Restaurants Participate?
Many of Orlando's most praised and popular restaurants participate in Magical Dining Month. Establishments from all corners of the city take part, from theme park and resort restaurants to favorite neighborhood eateries to many of Restaurant Row's fixtures to a few tasty places in Winter Park. In 2015, just a few of the participating restaurants include:

Magical Dining Month's Charitable Side
Each year, Visit Orlando teams up with a local charity that becomes the beneficiary for that year's event. One dollar of every Magical Dining Menu sale is donated to the organization. In 2015, ELEVATE Orlando, which works to better equip underprivileged urban youth to graduate high school and achieve success in college and career, is the beneficiary.
Though the event pre-dates 2009, that was the year when Magical Dining Month introduced this charitable element. The previous years' beneficiaries include:
