    • 1). Download the Minitor V programming software from Motorola website. The programming software will keep your device up to date.

    • 2). Inspect the equipment and look for signs of damage. The device could be damaged from even before it left the Motorola company, or have sustained harm during transport. If there is damage, return it to Motorola and have it replaced.

    • 3). Recharge or replace your batteries if the device won't power on or if you hear a low battery pulse tone sound. Subsequently, if the red LED light is not flashing when an audio alert is sounded, it may be due to low battery voltage. Slide the battery door latch towards the top, located where the alert monitor is, and push up to remove the battery door. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment and close the battery door by pushing down. The Minitor V uses rechargeable Nickel-Cadmium or two alkaline AAA-sized batteries.

    • 4). Slide the door latch into the locked position to keep it in place.

    • 5). Switch the control to "OFF" when the pager is not in use so the battery doesn't wear out sooner than it should.

    • 6). Press the "Reset" button if you want to put your device into standby mode. This will fix the device if it reverts to carrier squelch monitoring: a noise that makes audio incomprehensible when there is a poor signal. This can also occur when a message comes in that requires a code to be received.

    • 7). Rotate the "On-Off" switch clockwise to turn on the monitor. You should hear a transmission. If you don't, press and hold the "Reset" button to adjust the background noise.
