Cleaning Solutions for Brick Patios
- 1). Add a few squirts of non-ammonia dish soap to a bucket. Fill the bucket with hot water.
- 2). Wet down the brick patio with water from the garden hose.
- 3). Dip a stiff scrub brush into the bucket of cleaning solution. Scrub the patio thoroughly with the cleaning solution.
- 4). Rinse the patio with plain water from the garden hose.
- 1). Fill a bucket with a bleach and water solution. Use 1 part chlorine bleach to 9 parts water.
- 2). Dip a stiff scrub brush into the bucket of bleach solution. Scrub the patio briskly with solution. Allow it to sit on the patio for about 10 minutes.
- 3). Rinse the patio with plain water from the garden hose.
- 1). Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of hot water. Add ½ cup trisodium phosphate and ½ cup powdered laundry detergent. Allow the detergent to dissolve completely into the water.
- 2). Wet down the patio with water from the garden hose. Scrub the brick patio with a stiff scrub brush and the cleaning solution. Allow it to sit on the patio for about 10 minutes.
- 3). Rinse the patio with plain water from the garden hose.
- 1). Mix a solution of 1 cup muriatic acid and 1 gallon water into a plastic bucket. Put the water into the container first and then add the acid.
- 2). Dip a long-handled scrub brush into the bucket of acid solution. Scrub the patio thoroughly with the solution.
- 3). Rinse the patio with water from the garden hose. Do not let the acid solution sit on any part of the surface for more than three minutes.
- 4). Mix a solution of 1 cup household ammonia with 1 gallon of water in a clean bucket. Scrub the patio with a clean scrub brush and the ammonia solution to neutralize the acid.
