How to Store Silver Serving Dishes

- 2). Store silver dishes in a glass hutch or cabinet to slow the tarnishing process. This storage method allows for display and slowing the tarnish at the same time.

- 4). Place the silver dishes in a drawer lined with tarnish-resistant cloth for another storage option that will minimize tarnish on the dishes.
- 1). Wash the silver dishes in soapy water. Rinse with clean, warm water.
- 2). Wrap the silver dishes in two or three layers of tissue paper as you would wrap a gift. Wrap the silver dishes in a layer of anti-tarnish paper immediately over the tissue paper, in the same fashion.
- 3). Tie the anti-tarnish paper around the silver dishes with the cotton string, just as you would tie ribbon around a gift. This will secure the silver dishes for long-term storage.
- 4). Place the wrapped dishes into a cupboard or drawer to further decrease the amount of oxygen around the silver dishes.
