How to Troubleshoot a Computer That is Slow to Shut Down on Vista
- 1). Click "Start." Click "Control Panel." Click "Performance Information and Tools."
- 2). Check for a section marked "Performance issues." Click the message "Programs are causing Windows to shut down slowly. View details," if available.
- 3). Review the information displayed to find out the name of the application or driver interfering with shut-down. Follow the instructions at the bottom of the window to find out how to resolve the issue.
